We are on a mission to be Gainesville’s #1 air conditioning and heating company, and we will accomplish it by providing extraordinary customer service and maintaining a high level of industry knowledge. And we guarantee to do it with the utmost integrity and complete reliability. That’s why we offer a one-year guarantee on all parts and service.
What are the biggest signs that an HVAC system needs to be replaced?
The biggest sign is an old heat pump or air conditioner; more than 10 years old (although the life of some comfort systems last much longer than 10 years.) Your home has humidity problems, excessive, a noisy unit (which can be due to incorrect sizing), frequent repairs, and increasing energy bills.
How can people choose the right heating/cooling system for their house?
The most important advice we give our customers is to:
- Choose a licensed, professional hvac contractor. Many comfort systems are improperly installed, according to Energy Star.
- Check references. Word of mouth is a great way to find a reputable contractor. You can go further and search for reviews and testimonials online at sources such as Google, Yelp, Facebook, and Angie’s List, for references.
- Schedule a face-to-face meeting with the contractor.
- A licensed contractor that has the customer’s best interest at heart will recommend the best fit and brand according to the customer’s comfort needs and budget.
What does the recommended maintenance for an HVAC system include? How much can homeowners expect to spend on it?
Here are a few things that we check to make sure your system runs as effectively as possible so that it lasts as long as possible:
- Air Filters: Replacing the air filter properly and in a timely manner can save you a lot of money over time, plus using the right filter for your system will greatly improve your overall Indoor Air Quality.
- Thermostat Calibration: We make sure that your thermostat is calibrated properly so that it turns on and off only as needed.
- Refrigerant Pressures: We check them to make sure that they’re where they need to be to keep your system running as effectively as possible.
- Electrical Connections and Volts/Amps Check
- Flue Draft
- Condenser Coil
- Condensate Drains
- Burner Assembly
- Air Handler
- Heater Assembly
- Fan and Motor Check
Some AC and heating systems have never been serviced but they’re still running. Do people really need to service them or have them checked regularly?
At LIBERTYAIR, we firmly believe in the importance of regular AC system maintenance. Our specialists are trained to look at your whole AC system and take the necessary steps to preserve it, rather than sell you a new unit or service that you may not need.
Do you know that tuning up your AC system twice a year is the best thing you can do to keep it running more efficiently and more powerfully, without complications? At LIBERTYAIR, we do more than just inspect your AC system during a tune-up; we thoroughly clean it too. Having routine precision tune-ups is the reason we can avoid 80% of mechanical failures.
What repairs or maintenance is safe for a homeowner to do themselves?
Change the filter regularly.
